Liverpool-based manufacturer rolls out its Our Home portfolio
Designed by Shedkm, houses in the Our Home range will be built at Ideal Modular Homes' (IMH) factory in Liverpool. The facility was the one of the first to be visited by Esther McVey after her appointment as housing minister in July.
Earlier this month McVey told delegates at Mipim UK that she wanted the UK to be a world leader in modular house building within 10 years.
IMH founder and chief executive Luke Barnes said the new homes can be factory-built in four days, which he said would appeal to local authorities and developers looking to increase the pace of delivering affordable housing.
"The UK housing market is under pressure to deliver on its most ambitious proposals for housing yet.
"Affordable homes remain top of the government's agenda for discussion and with Our Home, we want to help meet quotas with quality housing," Barnes added.
IMH said the new range met national and London space standards, were accessible for disabled residents and could be adapted for later-life living or those with special medical needs.
"Superior air tightness, better insulation and greater thermal values [mean an] Our Home property will keep costs down, cutting annual expenditure on energy bills by more than 50%," the firm added.
