M-AR appoints new construction director

14th January, 2022

Offsite contractor M-AR is pleased to welcome Martin Burge to the team as the company’s new construction director.

Martin brings with him more than three decades of construction experience, during which time he’s overseen the successful completion of numerous high-profile projects including the construction of the new state-of-the-art training facility at Leicester City Football Club for McLaren Construction.

In his new role as construction director at M-AR, Martin will be the link between departments to create perfect synergy across different areas of the business. By overseeing the design, build, installation and aftercare elements, Martin will ensure that all aspects, including any potential issues, are fully factored into programme and cost schedules from the outset of a project. And in so doing, he’ll ensure M-AR can continue to deliver quality projects, on time and on budget for its clients – allowing them to reap the rewards of utilising offsite construction.

Another key area under Martin’s remit as construction director is looking after the health, safety and overall wellbeing of all M-AR staff, both in the factory and on site. As the contractor has grown rapidly in recent years, its existing processes and procedures need regularly updating and Martin will be keeping on top of any relevant changes as the company continues to evolve.

Commenting on the new role, Martin Burge said, “Over the last 30 years I’ve witnessed first-hand the impressive growth of the MMC and offsite construction sector, and it’s clear that offsite is increasingly relied on to deliver projects efficiently and cost-effectively. It’s an exciting time for the industry and I’m pleased to be a part of this journey with a forward-thinking company like M-AR, which is determined to continually challenge accepted ways of doing things in order to get the best possible outcome for its clients.

“Each department within M-AR quite rightly has its own driving forces, as do our clients, but it’s my job to balance these different factors and considerations to keep to programme both in the factory and out on site. It’s my aim to make sure that all the different cogs in the M-AR machine work together smoothly to make the experience as straight forward as possible for clients. There are some really impressive projects coming up for M-AR and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and working with our clients at every step along the way.”

Martin Burge joins M-AR as the contractor is about to embark on an ambitious five-year growth plan within the residential, education and commercial sectors. And with impressive financial results for the year ending March 2021 showing turnover had trebled on the previous year following a period of unprecedented growth, M-AR is on track to achieve this and continue to strengthen its reputation as a trusted offsite contractor.
