Project Overview:
Akustak® is a patented, acoustic modular wall system. Designed for materials optimisation & off-site construction, it minimises waste during manufacture & installation, whilst it’s unique, demountable form, facilitates recovery & reuse. Prefabricated & portable, Akustak® radically reduces project timescales, with configurations installed from 15 m2 / per hour, ready for plastering &/or decoration, whilst the ‘Forest’ & ‘Chroma’ range come pre-finished, eliminating the need for wet trades.
Akustak® is a British made, acoustic modular wall system; granted a UK patent in April 2021. Designed for materials optimisation & off-site construction, it minimises waste during manufacture & installation, whilst it’s unique, demountable form, facilitates recovery & reuse. In recognition of its sustainability credentials, Akustak® has been selected for growth & scale support, from the UK Government’s Innovate UK EDGE, alongside Innovative Start-up Membership, by the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC). Akustak® is also a valued member of the Association of Sustainable Building Products (ASBP).
Prefabricated & portable, Akustak® accelerates construction timescales, with configurations installed from 15 m2 / per hour, ready for plastering &/or decoration, whilst the
‘Forest’ and ‘Chroma’ range come pre-finished; eliminating the need for wet trades. Akustak® has been tested for fire safety (in accordance with BS EN ISO 1364-1) & resistance to sound (in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2 & 717-1) at BRE's & AIRO’s UKAS-accredited laboratories, respectively; surpassing Building Regulations – Part B & E.
Akustak® Configurations:
Aku125: Independent, twin-faced wall, typically installed to form new spaces and separations, where high levels of sound insulation are required, e.g. interview rooms, meeting rooms & private offices. - Labtested to Rw 49 dB airborne sound insulation. - Lab-tested to 79 minutes fire resistance.
Aku133: Independent, single-faced wall, typically installed in front of existing walls, where a significant increase in sound insulation is required, e.g. party walls between dwelling-houses & flats. - Labtested to Rw 43 dB airborne sound insulation.
AkuStudio: Dual independent, twin-faced wall, typically installed to form new spaces & separations, where very high levels of sound insulation are required, e.g. recording studios & test chambers. AkuStudio can also be used to form party walls between purpose-built dwelling-houses & flats and dwelling-houses & flats formed by material
change of use; guaranteeing Building Regulations – Part B (fire safety) & E (resistance to sound) compliance. - Lab-tested to Rw 62 dB airborne sound insulation.
Akustak® Finishes:
Akustak® Standard: Manufactured with a gypsum board fascia, ready for a plaster &/or paint finish.
Akustak® Forest: Manufactured with a birch ply fascia, pre-finished in clear Polyx-Oil®, as standard, with a range of timber veneers, available on request, including oak, teak & walnut.
Akustak® Chroma: Manufactured with an organically dyed, wood fibre panel fascia, pre-finished in clear Polyx-Oil®, with a range of colours, available on request, including black, blue, brown, dark grey, green, light grey, orange, red & yellow.
