Project Overview

A major new urban development is replacing the Gascoigne Estate, Barking town centre. The new development will be known as Weavers Quarter. This exciting new scheme sits in the heart of a major regeneration area for East London, with 1,575 new homes, new shops and new schools planned, with hundreds of new jobs being created in the area.

Construction of Zone 1 of Greatfields School commenced in May 2017, it took less than 7 months to complete and was handed over several weeks early allowing pupils to move from temporary accommodation to the new building in January 2018.

The benefits of Offsite Construction were successfully realised when Innovaré teamed up with Surface to Air Architects & Main Contractor Mid-Group for the delivery of the first phase of the new primary to secondary all-through school.

When finished the new £35 million 10fe school will provide 700 primary and 1,800 secondary school places in a high quality new building whose structure comprises Innovaré's i-SIP System of structural insulated panels combined with precast hollowcore floors.

Two further phases for the Greatfields School are programmed for commencement in 2018 to ensure all school accommodation is in place before the planned scheme completion in 2020
