Project Overview

The second phase of the Golden Jubilee Foundation Project expansion programme at the existing hospital site in Clydebank was commissioned by the NHS Golden Jubilee Foundation to provide an expansion of elective surgical capacity, specifically Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery and Diagnostic Endoscopy to the West of Scotland region. Not only is the building remarkable but the work that will be carried out within and the service it will provide to local communities makes this entry even more worthwhile. PCE Ltd took the structural design forward from RIBA Stage 4 through to the construction of the three-storey £34.5m elective care facility which comprises of 612no. off-site engineered pre-cast concrete kit-of-parts. The kit-of-parts approach enabled medical care to continue in adjacent buildings during the five-month onsite construction period by reduced deliveries, noise, and disruption to the busy hospital, promoting the trust’s ongoing sustainability and transformation plan.
