Sector - Commercial
Technology - Offsite
Company - Reds10
Project Overview
Reds10 has dispelled the myth that all offsite construction has to be the same, with Imperial War Museums’ (IWM) staff offices. Despite the difficult site location (London’s Zone 1) and a global pandemic, the building has set a new benchmark for architectural quality and non-standard finishes in MMC, and was recognised for doing so in publications including Building and Architects’ Journal. The project, which achieved both a BREEAM rating of Excellent and Considerate Constructors score of ‘Exceptional’ for our Community Engagement, marries the best of MMC with the latest architectural design. Reds10 appointed Jestico+Whiles to translate clients’ vision into a striking, flexible building of modest scale. The purpose-built building is a collaborative space for 180 staff and supports IWM’s commitment to develop smarter working practices. Collaboration of the entire project team, through Reds10’s common data environment ‘meant the required tight tolerances, while minimising risk and reaching the highest levels of quality. As part of our commitment to deliver better than carbon neutral at no extra cost, SMART building technology was installed, to help reduce overall energy use and drive 100 per cent space productivity.
