Project Overview

Hailsham Primary Academy is a new state-of-the-art primary and nursery school in Hailsham, East Sussex. The new build 2FE primary school,with a GIFA of 2498m2 constructed for East Sussex County Council, will create 420 primary and nursey places to serve the north Hailsham community.

The stylish form of the building is a mixture of single and two storey elements broken up using a combination of mono-pitch and flat roof sections along the length of the building. Externally finishes of brickwork and wood effect cladding give the building a natural and harmonious feel which is offset by the bright blue used for the external canopies, whilst internally the classrooms are light and spacious due to vaulted ceilings and high level windows creating the perfect environment for learning.

STREIF designed, manufactured and erected the entire building using our offsite closed panel building system, applying the principles and practice of modern methods of construction learnt over our 90 year company history.
This exemplar project, with the Streif integrated timber building system at its core, highlights the benefits of offsite construction and the part it can play in securing a safe, sustainable and efficient future for the construction industry.
